I cannot believe this situation is going on like this. Why government cannot do anything about this so we can receive payments to our Paypal accounts?
Sri Lanka as a emerging IT industry, Paypal is a vital payment option for e-commerce people. With the Internet+Paypal opportunities are endless.
It's also a good boost for national economy.
I can only hope and wait :(
New update:
http://www.whatiswhy.com/2010/10/best-paypal-alternative-for-sri-lanka.html
when i contacted paypal regarding this situation, this is what they had to say,
ReplyDeleteAt this time, Sri Lanka is only allowed by your goverment's regulations
to use the send only functions of PayPal. Due to the complexities of
global finance, members in some countries and regions may not use PayPal
to receive payments only send payments, but this is not a reflection on
our customers.
i hope they expand soon
So in other words, they don't mind money going out of Sri Lanka through paypal but don't want money to come into the country that way?
ReplyDeleteNo wonder we are doing so badly.
Even I wrote them several times but they keep on saying the old stuff. Today I wrote an article on this issue and a way to receive money to Sri Lanka.
