Most web hosting companies tell customers that they offer unlimited bandwidth.
If you didn't buy a dedicated server you are most probably hosted in a shared server with lot of other websites. If your website takes heavy traffic they will just block your website from the server saying it will overload the server and take down other websites in the same server.
